Last night I watched Empire of the Sun with Daniel. It was truly an epic movie. It's about a boy who's stuck in the middle of a war that he's too innocent to comprehend. By the end, after all the concentration camps, all the gritty realities of war, he has lost this innocence forever. The acting was superb, the directing (Steven Spielberg) fantastic. The fact that the movie was based partially upon the experiences of someone who actually went through it is utterly amazing to me. Make sure to check this one out, but remember it's about war through the eyes of a boy so it's quite heavy. Also, make sure to have someone around to cheer you up.
Tonight I began watching Malibu's Most Wanted but only made it about halfway then got bored and switched over to West Wing. Perhaps I'll give it a try again someday with a group of people. I don't think this one was meant to be watched alone. It was funny, but yeah... it needs multiple people around to be funny.
